DA Travel Edition: What you need to know about travel this 2022-2023 season
Travel is back and in full swing this year, after a few years of vacationing in the backyard we would say that our clients are traveling more now than ever before. With that said it isn’t just our clients who are traveling, it’s all those that haven’t been able to travel for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and big celebrations – which is good and bad. Good for those who are wanting to get out and explore, but bad for the over-demand that is happening across the world in popular travel destinations. Travel times have become a bit more complicated since the pre-pandemic era – but we are your experts and here to help! Here are a few tips that we hope help when it comes to planning your next getaway.
One: If you aren’t flying private, then expect a potential delay. With our clients, we always try to stay 10 steps ahead on weather, Flight information, Travel restrictions, and so on, but in these times most airports are having major staff shortages which is affecting the time at the airport from security to customs. We recommend saving yourself from running through the airport either by having an airport greeter who escorts you through seamlessly up to your gate or by arriving with plenty of time for flexibility and delays.
Number two: Keeping up to date on travel restrictions, as of now most countries have dropped the mandatory COVID-19 testing that was in place in for the last few years, which makes traveling much less of a headache – no more getting stuck in another country because you have COVID and they won’t let you fly home! But, the reality is that restrictions can change at any time so it is very important to have a Travel expert that is aware of any changing rules going on at that time checking all entry and re-entry leading up to your travel day.
Number three: Expect the cost of travel to be higher than the pre-pandemic times. We saved this for last since it’s such a drag for those who are itching to travel and have been saving for their big trip. There are a number of reasons that this has occurred, from Fuel costs, supply-chain problems, and inflation across the board – making hotels, attractions, restaurants, and car rentals all more pricey than you would have expected in previous years. The best thing to do with this information is just to plan and budget accordingly to your trip circumstances.
We hope these travel tips have been helpful in planning any 2022-2023 adventures. These tips aren’t to pull you away from travel but to have the best information at hand in order to have a successful vacation! With that said, we always tell our clients if anything, always buy travel insurance on your entire trip, we know it can be an extra expense but it is so worth it with the ever-changing world we are living in!
Best,
