We love a costal California getaway, and when it comes to this moody location it is one of our favorite places to travel. The Ventana in Big Sur has the most epic views, exquisite food, tons of activities, and a dream spa.  The Ventana Alila is an adults only resort that sits upon the coastline in the midst of the forest.

Once we arrived we checked into our room, just the walk to find your suite has beauty all around. Our view from our room was the forest as far as you could see surrounded by a distant ocean. Once we were settled we explored the property. From the Pool, the Garden which they use the produce for their restaurant, The Sur House and the dense forest walk that leads you to their Yoga studio every inch of this resort had something to offer.

The Ventana offers many experiences to choose from, some are complementary others are paid per person. A few that we loved were the Coast ridge hike, a beautiful hike that leads you alongside the coastline enjoying all Big Sur’s beauty has to offer. We also enjoyed the Rise and Shine morning movement. Such a beautiful was to move your body in the morning – this resort takes wellness to the next level.

The final must do upon visiting this resort is spending some time at the Spa Alila. With the surroundings of the forest this spa has A Japanese bath house, saunas, reflexology, and a few massages and facials to choose from. We could live here, the relaxation of this spa takes the experience to another level.

Overall we would give this coastline wellness resort a 10 out of 10 on our list of must go!
