DA TRAVEL EDITION: 2022 Low-Key Luxury Winter Escape
It seems like winter came a bit early here in Los Angeles, and that our snow days are behind us as spring creeps in. Well, that might be true for Southern California, but the rest of the US is still basked in snow. We love planning a long weekend away somewhere by the fire with a hot toddy looking out at snow-capped mountains. Our Marketing Manager, Allison. Takes us on one of her favorite winter escapes. This place will have you packing your bags, take a look inside a weekend away at the Amangani Hotel in Jackson Hole Wyoming.
Now we know this might seem a bit obvious to the travel experts, but Aman properties really know how to pull you in. The weekend starts off with the DA Travel girls flying private into Jackson airport, the drive over to the Aman is breathtakingly beautiful. Surrounded by the Tetons, Buffalo, Horses, or Elk (since the hotel sits on a national elk refuge) beauty goes on as far as the eye can see. Once you arrive at the Amangani the feeling of total relaxation comes over you, the rooms are simple yet elegant and the views from the room are extraordinary. Looking over a massive meadow that leads to one of the tallest peaks in Wyoming doesn’t get old. You can spend the day hanging in the heated pool or cozying up by one of the many fireplaces. Or go out to see all Wyoming has to offer, from the ski slopes to Yellowstone you can’t go wrong.
Allison and the DA Travel team did Yellowstone the VIP way, The Aman packed a picnic lunch for the road and after an hour’s drive ended up at Yellowstone National Park, we will let the photos below speak for themselves. Back at the Amangani the service and cuisine were top of the line, maybe one of our all-time favorite meals! (We know that’s a big statement) not to mention the morning Lattes were like little cups of heaven! The Aman is also only about 10 minutes from downtown Jackson Hole where the charm and vibes are high – you can’t go wrong with shopping and eating just about anywhere; Our favorite local go-to spot was Persephone Bakery for a little downtown pick-me-up brunch. Then drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar; it is a cowboy town after all!
Although Wyoming is a year-round destination, we have to say that winters at the Aman might be our favorite after this last trip.
